Maplewood News - Winter 2011

As the snow piles up outside, we find ourselves daydreaming of warm, sunny days on the fairways. Hopefully, many of you are enjoying just that in the warmer climes this winter.

The Kids

The first question we hear from so many of you is how are kids are doing; so, very briefly:

Brandon is a mechanical engineer working in the car design department of CSX Railroad in Jacksonville, Florida. Jessica teaches high school biology and physics in Granby, CO and lives in Winter Park, just minutes from the ski area. Nathan is in Michigan attending luthier (guitar-making) school, where he is learning to combine his considerable talents of art and music.

Alan & Amy

And us? We're here for the winter. Alan stays busy plowing snow and grooming the snowmobile trails, and he's building outdoor tables and screens for the covered porch we added last year. We're also both involved in several local organizations. Plus, if you're in town this winter, be sure to stop in and see us on Friday evenings for a fish fry dinner and a cocktail!

Also, we'll be hosting the final Sno Club dinner of the season on Saturday, March 19. Please call ahead if you can join us for that evening.

Going Forward

So, what's on the docket for 2011? We've been eying up the decrepit pump house on hole #5 for years, and we've settled on a plan for rebuilding it in a fashion we can be proud of. We'll also keep our focus on the clubhouse, sprucing up the curb appeal and fixing more old "issues". The covered porch we added last year has been well used, and the addition of screens will make it even better.

Thank You

Of course, we never lose sight of the fact that we couldn't do any of this with out you - thank you for choosing Maplewood, we hope to see you soon!
